The Silent Service Motorcycle Club (SSMC) was founded by Bob Opple, Ken board, Don Gentry and Tim Floersch in Washington state. The original charter was drafted in December of 2008. All four still are active members with the USSVI and simpy wanted to ride together but also tie that to being a Submariner. As a base of the USSVI, the SSMC has the second largest base membership in the USSVI after the Groton base. Our membership is right at 400 members nationally and internationally with 20+ chapters throughout the United states.
We as the SSMC are a self governing organization, but also support USSVI and follow that creed: To perpetuate the memory of our shipmates who gave their lives in the pursuit of duties while serving their country. That their dedication, deeds and supreme sacrifice be a constant source of motivation toward greater accomplishments. Pledge loyalty and patriotism to the United States of America and its Constitution.
We are also an organization that supports and respects all military organizations and their families.
We are the ONLY motorcycle club associated with the USSVI. Don't be fooled by any others.
